I'm excited to announce that I am going back to the Twin Cities (Minneapolis and Saint Paul) to speak at SharePoint Saturday Twin Cities – the April 2019 edition. I will give two sessions at the event – the first being with my co-host of The Coffee Chat on 365 Adoption, Sarah Haase. We will be talking about how you can drive adoption of Microsoft Flow within your organization. We will show you how to use the functionality of Office 365 to empower your users. The second session will be with Drew Madelung and we will be talking about how to create a real-world sharing strategy for SharePoint, OneDrive & Microsoft Teams. We will be covering the scenarios and questions you and your organization should be asking when you start to make decisions about sharing within your organization. Creating a custom Microsoft Flow template gallery in SharePoint

Microsoft Flow is the workflow tool in Office 365 to automate your tasks and business processes, whether your systems are on-premises, in Microsoft's cloud, or even if they are not part of Microsoft's catalog. Flow allows you to create templates to help you not recreate the wheel when you are creating your flows and you can even share those flows with others by exporting the templates. Earlier this year I had the opportunity to work with Sarah Haase (Office Apps & Services Microsoft MVP) on an interesting issue: how to share Microsoft Flow templates within an organization without uploading them to the public Flow template gallery. SQL Saturday Memphis 2018

On October 6, 2018, I will be speaking in Memphis, Tennessee at the SQL Saturday event. The day is filled with sessions covering Azure, Python, SQL Server (of course), SQL on Linux, Power BI, and my session: Using Your On-prem Data in a Cloud World. In my session, we will discuss the benefits of using Microsoft Flow, PowerApps, and Power BI, how those benefits translate to being on-prem, and how we can use the data in Office 365 as well. The title of this post is a little silly, but I will be speaking at the Minnesota SharePoint Users Group and the Minnesota Office 365 User Group in February! First up on February 14th, I will be presenting an intro session on Microsoft Flow and discussing the Flow road-map. IT/Dev Connections 2017

[UPDATED] It was a great week in San Francisco! The #ITDEVConnections conference is a high-quality event that focuses on real-world technical sessions and the conference delivered. Both of my sessions had good participation from attendees – I enjoyed answering questions and getting to know everyone. My first session topic was how you can plan and execute a transition from SharePoint Designer workflows to Microsoft Flow. The slides are available via the IT/Dev Connections website, but there was a question regarding the functionality gaps between Designer and MS Flow – in the session I mentioned a website to keep track of the gaps and here is the link: https://ms.flow.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/release-notes/#known-issues-and-resolutions I also mentioned in the session that you can signup for the PowerApps Community Plan to gain access to PowerApps and Microsoft Flow for free. On the same day as my first session, I participated on an expert panel discussion where we answered questions from attendees and via the moderator, Liam Cleary. One of the great BI additions in SharePoint Online capabilities is column formatting that is currently rolling out. I demonstrated how you can easily use JSON code to style and enhance list views and how that can make a huge difference for your users. There was also a great deal of conversation and questions from the attendees on how to share Power BI content and what licenses are required for sharing.
